jheapsandClaude Opus 5 2e372d4677 Take the glass off the middle of the table
The board — the five community cards a dealer taps to enter the flop, the
turn and the river — could not be pressed at all. #seatsLayer is an
`inset: 0` sibling of the table that holds the seat pucks, and an element
with no background still hit-tests, so the empty middle of that layer took
every tap aimed at what was underneath it. Measured at 1280x900 with five
cards out: all five hit-tested to `div#seatsLayer`, on every screen wide
enough to keep the board in the middle rather than on the strip. #betsLayer,
the other sheet over the felt, has been pointer-events: none since it was
written.

Underneath that, the cards were drawing at a little over half their size.
placeBoard measures how much middle the felt has and writes it to the
centre's max-width — but max-width caps a box and does not claim anything,
and the centre is a flex column that sizes to its content. So with 463px of
measured room it went on being 136px wide, the row inside it is width: 100%
of that, and five cards sharing 136px come to rest on their own min-width:
24px, against the 44px floor every other control on the felt is held to.

Neither was visible to anything. A scripted probe calling .click() on the
node skips hit-testing entirely, and the sweep's occlusion check had only
ever been shown three selectors' worth of the page — the action bar, the
header and the seats. It asks about every control now, which took three
refinements to be honest: a control that set pointer-events: none has opted
out rather than been covered; a shut <details> hands out a real rect for
everything in it, and checkVisibility is the browser's own answer; and flow
content under a fixed layer is a position rather than a fault, so it is said
rather than failed.

The five sheets a dealer spends half the night in were getting one rule of
twenty-five. They get all of them now. Three rules had to learn what a modal
is first: two ask about the fixed bar, which is not a question while a scrim
is covering it, and the third called the bottom four rows of a sheet that
scrolls unreachable buttons. The helper all three lean on had its own blind
spot — it asked whether an element had left its box entirely, which is true
of something well below the fold and false of something hanging eight pixels
over the edge of it.

That turned up two controls that were a glyph and nothing else: the pot
wizard's close, on the one dialog that divides money, and the cross that
removes a custom field, in a column of identical crosses.

// Three passes over the same surfaces.
//
// A mouse and a thumb, because the 44px rule stands itself down where `hover: hover`
// says there's a pointer, and a headless desktop browser is a pointer — so a single
// pass has never once measured a touch target, however many viewports it visited.
//
// And a thumb on a phone whose owner has turned the text up. Every length in this
// stylesheet that isn't a structural clearance is in `rem`, which is the right way
// round and means the whole page follows the browser's font size — including out of
// the side of the window, which is what it was doing: at 20px, which is the 125%
// an Android text-size slider gives you, "Resolve Pot" ran 23px off the right of a
// 360px phone and took the document's scroll width with it. Every check in the
// audit already knew how to catch that; not one of them had ever been run at a size
// anybody actually sets.
//
// One shape it is not held to, and the arithmetic for why. Twelve players all-in on
// a 360x640 phone is the tallest the action bar ever gets — the status block and the
// pot breakdown both grow with the text — and at 20px it stands 283px of the 640,
// which with the header leaves the felt 290x163 where it had 296x262. Twelve pucks
// 44px wide (the floor a thumb needs; there is nothing narrower to go to) and 62px
// tall do not fit around an ellipse 163px deep: two per side is all the height there
// is, and the sweep reports it as seats 9, 10 and 11 written across each other.
//
// That is a geometry with no answer rather than a fault with a fix, so it is
// reported as a note every run instead of a failure every run. A sweep that is
// always red stops being read — the same reasoning as the 30% furniture warning.
//
// The packed table is the same arithmetic and was only ever passing by luck.
// Measured on the same 360x640 phone at 20px, with nobody all-in: the felt is
// 330x294, the pucks are 44x63, and five of them sit down each side — 315px of puck
// into 294px of felt, with the pitch between neighbours at 35px and 51px against a
// puck 63px tall. They overlap by construction, worst case 12px, and they always
// have. What kept the sweep green was the hit-test probes landing in the gaps
// between the glyphs; a change anywhere that moves the ring by three pixels moves
// the probes onto the overlap and the run goes red for something nothing in the
// change touched. Twice this round, from a stylesheet reset and from a sidebar
// panel getting shorter.
//
// So both twelve-handed shapes are notes at this text size rather than failures,
// for the same stated reason. Not an exemption for the felt in general: at 16px the
// same table is held to the same standard as everything else, and the two passes
// above it are unchanged.
